I am traveling as a chaperone with a group of 12 students. We will have a total of 13 in our group. Since I will be the only adult, how can I book all of our group group for Genie plus rides?

Hey, Candace! Always happy to meet a fellow Georgian on planDisney. You are taking 12 students alone to Walt Disney World Resort. First, let me say I commend your bravery. I know you are creating a lifetime of memories for your students.

Using Genie+ to maximize your time in the theme parks will be a breeze, but it will require a little coordination upfront. Each student will need a MyDisney account. My first step would be to ask their parents if they already have one. If not, you or their parents can create a minor's profile, or the student can create their own if they are 13 or older.

Once everyone has a MyDisney account, it's time to connect! If you create the profile, they will be listed on your My Disney Experience app as "Plans Managed by Me."

For accounts managed by their parents, there are a few steps to follow.

    1. You will first need to connect with the parent. On the app, open the menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen); scroll to "Account;" and select "Profile." On the Profile page under the tab titled "Family & Friends List" select "+ Add a Guest." If you are together, you can do this quickly by scanning their linking code, which they can find under their Profile. If not, you can connect with their name and email address by selecting "I'll enter their name and age" and following the prompts.
    2. The parent will need to accept the invitation sent to their email address, and also go to their Family & Friends list and select "Yes, share my Family & Friends list" at the bottom of the page.
    3. You can then connect with their child by going to "+ Add a Guest" and selecting "Find through my connected Guests."

Once you are all connected, you are good to go!

Guests under the age of 18 cannot make purchases on the My Disney Experience app, so you will need to purchase Genie+ on your app for you and your students.

You can make your first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection as early as 7 am. You can make a second selection 2 hours after the theme park you are visiting opens or you have used the selection you made. After that, you can make selections every 2 hours or you use the last selection made, whichever comes first. The Tip Board on the app helps you track with a banner that tells you when you are eligible to make your next selection.

With your trip in just a few days, if you have any issues trying to manage Genie+, the Guest Experience Team in the theme parks should be able to help. You can find them under the big blue umbrellas. If you run into tough tech challenges with the app, you can call for assistance with My Disney Experience. And planDisney is here for you, too! Please come back with any questions as you are planning your time at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

I sincerely applaud and appreciate your commitment to your students! They are lucky to have you and we are all lucky for people like you who care so deeply.

    Thinking of the Happiest Things!
    Jana
