We will be traveling with a baby and a preschooler and I am nervous. 1-I understand the concept of Fast Pass, but now I am confused with the Genie+ and Lightening option. 2- Is there a list of rides per height? 3-What rides can I do with a baby at MK/AK

Welcome to planDisney, Wendy!  You have come to the right place.  We are here to help you with all your questions and concerns about traveling to Walt Disney World Resort.

As a mom of four, I know first-hand that traveling with babies and preschoolers and all.the.stuff. can be stressful.  Let me reassure you -- in my opinion, there is no place on the planet that makes it easier to travel with young children than Disney Parks!  Let's get right to your questions.

During the temporary closure of Walt Disney World Resort, the FastPass+ system was retired.  Disney Genie service launched in the fall of 2021.  There are essentially 3 components to Disney Genie service:

    • Disney Genie:  This complimentary service provides personalized recommendations and a daily itinerary to help you maximize your day.
    • Disney Genie+:  Disney Genie+ may be purchased as a ticket add-on or may be purchased on a daily basis through the My Disney Experience mobile app.  With Disney Genie+, Guests can reserve Lightning Lane access to over 40 rides and attractions, one at a time.  Guests can book an additional Lightning Lane after redeeming the first, or two hours after booking their most recent Lightning Lane, whichever comes first.
    • Individual Lightning Lane:  Some of the most popular attractions have been designated as Individual Lightning Lane attractions.  Through August 7, these attractions are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage.  Up to two Individual Lightning Lane attractions may be purchased a la carte per day via the My Disney Experience mobile app.  These purchases are independent of attractions reserved with Disney Genie+ service.  Guests do not need to purchase Disney Genie+ in order to be eligible to make Individual Lightning Lane purchases.

I think you'll be surprised by the number of attractions that you'll be able to bring your baby to.  I have included this list of attractions with no minimum height requirement.  You can use the drop-down menu in the top right to sort by location, and the height filter to change the minimum height required.  You'll find the most number of attractions suitable for babies and preschoolers at Magic Kingdom Park.  Be sure to also take advantage of Rider Switch service.  Rider Switch allows one adult to wait with any non-riders while the rest of your party enjoys the attraction.  When they return, the waiting adult can then enjoy the attraction without waiting in the standby queue.

Wendy, I cannot recommend the Baby Care Centers enough!  These magical places are like oases in the desert!  You'll find a quiet, cool space for feeding and changing, as well as baby essentials available for purchase.  Some of my planDisney friends and I recently filmed video tours of the Baby Care Centers in all four theme parks at Walt Disney World -- check them out!

Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions.  Enjoy your visit!
