Traveling around the time of my husband’s 40th with our 3 young kids. Anything special we should be doing at Disney while there to celebrate his birthday?

    Hi Polly,

Walt Disney World is a perfect place to celebrate milestone birthdays (and all birthdays in between). My wife and son and I celebrated my 50th birthday with fine and fun signature dining and  —
since we were dressed a bit more than usual  —  we stopped for a nighttime Cinderella Castle photo. It’s one of my favorite family photos and one of my most cherished memories from that birthday.

So my first suggestion is photos. Lots of them. Disney PhotoPass Service and Memory Maker will help capture each special moment. Don’t forget the Magic Shots to add just a bit more character. You can later use the Disney PhotoPass site to add birthday celebration stickers to your favorites.

What's a birthday party without friends? Consider a character dining experience.  I love The Garden Grill for its family-style dining, comfortable booth seating, great food, and — of course —  Chip 'n' Dale.

For that something special, enjoy one of the unique experiences from the Enchanting Extras Collection. Wild Africa Trek and Star Wars Guided Tour are on my someday birthday list.

And be sure that the Birthday Boy stops by for a "Hi Ya, Pal!" from Mickey himself.

    Happy Birthday to your husband!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
