I am traveling in April to WDW with my two sons, ages 8 and 10 and I am looking at the Port Orleans Riverside or the Caribbean hotels. Specifically, I would like your opinion on which offers a better pool for their ages? Thanks.

    Hi Tricia!

I am so excited you are booking an upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World!  You will love traveling in the Spring and can take in the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival Presented by HGTV while your here!

My girls were 8 and 11 when we stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort last February and although it is a fun resort, it is the largest resort on Disney property.  If you plan to stay at Caribbean Beach, I suggest requesting either the Trinidad North Buildings or the Martinique Buildings.  These are considered the Preferred Rooms and are a little bit of a price upgrade, but it is such a time saver!  You will find the proximity to the Disney transportation, Old Port Royal (where the food court, gift shop, arcade, and concierge desk are located) and the main pool worth it.  Your sons will love the buccaneer style pool, surrey bike path, and mini motor boat rentals also!

My hands down favorite moderate resort however is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside! You will find most of the same amenities as above, but also have the FABULOUS added bonus of a pontoon boat ride via the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney!  My kids love to search for Hidden Mickey's along the path.  Riverside also has Ole' Man Island themed after Tom Sawyer, and features a pool with a slide, and a catch-and-release fishing hole!  This resort would be my recommendation for your boys!

    I hope that helps!

Let me know if I can assist you any further,
    ~Angie
