    Traveling alone with my three kids ages 8, 5 & 4 for Oct 29-31. Planning Not-so-scary Halloween party on 29th. Can you suggest best hotel for easy access & fun for younger kids?

    Hello Tracy!  I've been in your shoes - I've taken my 3 kids, all by myself, to Walt Disney World several times.   It is not as daunting as some would think, and I applaud you for doing a bit of advance planning. First of all, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a ton of fun!  Be sure to watch the Boo-to-you Parade and the HalloWishes Fireworks - both are not to be missed.  And costumes, simple or elaborate, are welcome for kids of all ages - including you if you feel so inclined!

    If you are trying to decide on a Walt Disney World Resort based on proximity to Magic Kingdom and fun-factor for kids, my 2 best suggestions are Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Polynesian Resort. Both are Deluxe Resorts, and are on the monorail system, which makes access to and from Magic Kingdom super-easy.  They also have awesome feature pools that your kids would love!  If Deluxe is not in your budget, my choice for a Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside - keep in mind this is not on the  monorail system, but there is good bus transportation available.  If you're looking at a Value Resort, hands down my favourite is Art of Animation - your kids would absolutely love the theming there, and they too, have a dedicated, good busing system for transportation to the theme parks.
