We'll be traveling from the airport with a 5 and 7 year old after a 4 hour flight. 1. Would it be smarter to take a van/taxi than to do the magical express? How long does magical express take? Should we haul our booster seats for the van/taxi?

    Hi Karen,

Our family uses Magical Express all the time when we come to Walt Disney World and actually look forward to being on the bus.  My husband feels like our vacation truly begins once we arrive in Orlando International Airport and board the Magical Express.  Once on the bus, my girls (ages 8 and 11 now) will sit together near the T.V. screen and wait for the movie about Walt Disney World to play.  This keeps them occupied the whole trip.  It usually takes 30-40 minutes to get to your resort.  The Magical Express will make several stops which you will know about when you board.  I usually bring a jacket on board as sometimes the air-conditioning is too high for me.  The beauty of taking the Magical Express is that you don't have to pick up your luggage at Baggage Claim, and it will be delivered to your resort room even if you are not in the room.

If you are going to rent a taxi or van/car, I would ask if they will have complementary booster seats for your children.  Some companies provide this and others will charge.  I find it much more convenient to just take Magical Express, even with tired kids.  Of course, bringing things to do on the long plane trip.  If you have a smart phone, I will usually download a movie for the girls to help occupy the time.  Also bringing Disney coloring books or even crafts for the plane makes the time go by as you know.

I hope you have a magical trip, Karen.  Please send me a follow up question if I can help you further.
