Hi Cheyne,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm thrilled to hEAR that you're planning a Disney Cruise. Let's get this party started by talking about your stateroom options.
Depending on which ship you choose, you do have an option to have your family in one stateroom at Concierge level. Both the Royal Suite with Verandah and 2-Bedroom Suite with Verandah aboard the
Disney Wonder and
Disney Magic accommodate up to seven Guests. As Concierge Guests, there are wonderful perks like priority check-in and boarding, exclusive onboard events, and an onboard lounge. However, in my experience, the price point on booking a Concierge suite would likely be higher than choosing two staterooms.
Many families that need space for five to eight people choose to book two staterooms either adjoining or located somewhat close to each other and possibly in two different stateroom categories to economize. Fortunately, each of the four ships offer
connecting staterooms. So you can split your family up and still create that suite-like feel you are seeking. If you decide on two adjoining staterooms with verandahs, the partition can even be removed by your stateroom host or hostess, creating one massive verandah between the two rooms!
If you choose staterooms close to one another, you can choose two different categories and possibly save even more money! In this scenario, Guests often choose either an oceanview or a verandah stateroom and an inside stateroom as their second stateroom.
Personally, I would choose the two connecting staterooms option. I like having the feeling that we are all together, and I can create that by opening the connecting door. Plus, I’m all in for having TWO bathrooms that can be easily shared. Since I have two teenagers, I say the more bathrooms, the better! The
deck plans of each ship clearly indicate where the connecting staterooms are located.
One last money saving tip: Check for a Guaranteed Rate which means that you do not get to specifically choose your stateroom, but instead you select a category of staterooms. Your room will be assigned to you at a later date. So, for example, you could select a “Guaranteed Oceanview Stateroom” rate for one of your staterooms and you will be guaranteed to have an oceanview stateroom that will be assigned to you when your sail date gets closer. These rates are not available on all voyages, but it doesn't hurt to ask! Contact
Disney Cruise Line and a Cast Member will be more than happy to walk you through booking the best possible arrangement for your family.
Once you get your voyage booked, please stop back by with all your planning questions-we'd love to help!
SEA ya real soon!
