Hi Rebecca,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. When my husband and I first traveled to Walt Disney World, we traveled as adults only. There is so much magic for adults at Walt Disney World. Let me offer some suggestions for your trip with your daughter.
Be sure to check out the newly re-imagined
Disney Springs area. This shopping, entertainment, and dining area now includes many new stores and fantastic restaurants. My husband and I recently had a very enjoyable date night at Disney Springs. First we dined on the delicious Pan Asian fare at
Morimoto Asia, and then we headed to
Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, where we grabbed an outside table and enjoyed listening to live musical entertainment that was occurring in Disney Springs.
I find that another place that is great for adults to experience is
Epcot's World Showcase. From stopping along the way to pick up a drink or sample some food from the different country's pavilions, to taking in entertainment such as Matsuriza drumming in Japan or the amazing a cappella Voices of Liberty in the American pavilion, this is a great place for adults to spend an afternoon.
Finally, do remember to tap into that child within. While there are so many activities for adults at Walt Disney World, there is still something magical about walking up Main Street, U.S.A., eating a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar, knowing that we're heading to ride on Peter Pan's Flight.
I hope that this gives you some thoughts for your trip, Rebecca! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
