I have traveled to WDW numerous times but never stayed on site. I am planning a trip with 8 yo son in June. I am seeking advice as to the best Moderate Resort based on convenient Disney transportation to the parks and a fun pool area. Thanks!

    Hi Linda!

I think you will really enjoy staying on-site.  Some of the "perks" of being Disney's guest are fantastic, including Magical Express (a free luggage and transportation service from Orlando Airport), Extra Magic Hours and access to Disney Transportation.  As for the best moderate resort for your son, I recently toured the new pirate-themed rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and was amazed! The theming was incredible, as was the attention to detail, right down to the pirate ship beds and giant map on the carpet!  If you like pools, this is my choice for a little pirate-in-training!  There are nine of them!  The main pool area is absolutely gorgeous.  There is a pirate splash pool with kid-sized slides, waterfalls and water canons.  I saw several moms who literally could not get their kids out of the water!  If you'd like a sneak peak, you can visit the independent website, and search accommodations for CBR for some great pictures of the rooms, common areas and pools.

Transportation from all of the moderate resorts to the parks is via bus, so in my opinion, they are all equally convenient.

I've also stayed at Port Orleans and Coronado Springs Resorts.  These were also absolutely lovely, and excellent choices, but if you asked me to vote for my top choice for little boys, it would be Caribbean Beach Resort!

    Have a wonderful trip!
