We have traveled to Disney the last 5 out of 6 years but we have always traveled in July or August. This year we are going in mid April. Do you have any suggestions on how to dress for the weather during this time if year? Are the mornings/evenings chilly?

    Hi Gabriella,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We love helping guests to plan magical vacations!

You will find the weather at Walt Disney World in mid-April to be significantly different from July and August. In those summer months, I am sure that you were used to hot temperatures. In Orlando in April, the average high temperature is 83 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit. My family often visits Walt Disney World at this time of year, and we typically find ourselves comfortable in shorts and short sleeve shirts for most days; however, I do bring a pair or two of long pants and long-sleeved shirts for everyone just in case the weather hits a cool spell. We also bring a zip-up sweatshirt or light jacket for everyone. As you note, the mornings and evenings can be a bit chilly at 60 degrees, so having a light layer for everyone that you can roll up and stash in a backpack during the day is typically a good idea. We find that especially for my daughter, a light jacket or sweatshirt is also useful when we go into a restaurant where there is air conditioning - she can get chilly fast!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Gabriella. Have a wonderful time planning your magical vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
