When we traveled in 3/09 to Disney I caught a mention of a Pirate themed sailing on the Disney Cruise. Maybe a 3/4 day sail? Was this a one time special event or are they planning on more? I can't find anything since we are returning in 2/10.

Ahoy matey! Your memory serves you well. The March 8-12, 2009 "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend Lives On" cruise aboard the Disney Wonder brought pirate legends and lore together at sea.

Actors Lee Arenberg and Marty Klebba from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies held a private meet 'n' greet. This event also included a welcome reception at the Walt Disney World Resort, viewing of the movies and exclusive event gifts. The cost was $250 per person to venture into pirate territory in addition to the price of the cruise.

DCL typically plans events a few months out so I would keep your spyglass towards www.disneycruise.com to see if any future pirate events are being offered.

Don't forget that included on every Disney Cruise there is a Pirate themed party with a fireworks finale topped only by the spectacular treasure trove of desserts at the buffet!
