Hi, ! We have a travel trailer and will be camping at Ft. Wilderness. Are tents allowed on the site if the number of people staying are within the limit of persons per site? Thank you

    Hi Barb!

The Fort Wilderness Resort is where my husband and I call home several months every year. We love bringing our motor coach and "camping" in this beautiful setting while still enjoying the Disney magic.

Depending on the type of site you reserved makes a big difference as far as the ability to place a tent on it. The premium sites are the ones with the longest all concrete pads. Many will not have an area where you can safely and securely anchor down a tent. If you don't have to anchor one you are more then welcome to add it next to your trailer on the concrete. The better sites to add tents will be the Full Hookup sites. These will have a large sand area in the back of the concrete pad and most will have areas off the pad as well. Because the terrain in the different loops can be a little rocky, full of vegetation, or even wet, it is best to use your pad for the tents if possible.

Tents are certainly allowed as long as the number of guests remain in the limit per site. Sometimes families enjoy having the options for the kids to be out under the stars to enjoy a true camping experience. I personally am at the point of enjoying an indoor bed and indoor plumbing after many years of tent camping! I believe that word is "glamping"!
