Hi Jennifer!
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is such a great resort. I love that it offers southern charm and hospitality. The staff have always been so welcoming and helpful and I love the size of the rooms.
When our family travels to the Walt Disney World Resort, we rely on the
Complimentary Resort Transportation. I actually think that this is one of the best perks that Disney has to offer. The transportation usually begins operating approximately one hour prior to park opening and up to one hour after closing time. Buses also operate until approximately 2:00 a.m. to and from the Downtown Disney Area.
There are a couple of things to factor in to transportation time. The buses typically arrive to pick guests up and drop them off approximately every 15-20 minutes. Also while staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, there are multiple bus stops that the buses pick up and drop off at. Once the bus leaves the resort you will find that unless there is a lot of traffic on the road, the journey tends to be fairly short. It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is the farthest from the resort and takes on average about 20 minutes. Animal Kingdom also is usually sharing a bus with a water park, so the bus also picks up and drops off at the water park during the operational hours. The journey to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot typically take about 10-15 minutes.
Once on-board the transportation you can enjoy the air conditioning and relax knowing that someone else is doing the driving!
