Hi Stephanie,
It sounds like you are in the beginning stages of planning your Walt Disney World vacation! I’m so happy you brought your question to planDisney, because we are here to help every step of the planning process.
You can visit the
website of the travel insurance provider to view the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the travel protection plan, including cancellation coverage. The terms and conditions state that you must contact the insurance provider as soon as possible to report your cancellation. If you booked your package with Walt Disney Travel Company, the
terms and conditions also include cancellation information. For cancellations made 30 days or more before your arrival, amounts paid, minus cancellation fees by third parties, non-refundable runDisney registrations, non-refundable travel protection plan costs, and other amounts owed, will be refunded. For cancellations made 2-29 days before your arrival, you will be responsible for a $200 cancellation fee per package. For any cancellations made 1 day or less before your trip, the full price of the package is non-refundable.
If you need, you can also
make changes to your reservation, including dates, length of stay, party size, or hotel accommodations. If the changes result in a price increase, you will be responsible for the price difference. If the change is made 30 days or less before your arrival, a $50 change fee per package will apply.
I hope this helps, Stephanie. Make sure you visit the
insurance provider’s site to read the full details of your policy. I hope you’ll come back to see us again at
planDisney for any other planning questions you have!
