I was to travel on the 4 june, however I may not be able to as I may be hospitalised for her acute surgery. I didnt buy the insurance. Can I still get a refund

    Hello and welcome to planDisney.

Oh! Dear friend! I'm so sorry to hear about the possibility of being hospitalized. I'm wishing on a star that everything is resolved well for you and, especially, that you feel well. Although sailing on Disney cruises is one of my favorite things to do, my family has had to cancel a cruise due to unforeseen health-related issues. I sincerely hope you don't experience a similar disappointment. Though, having been there myself, I recognize there are some things in life that necessarily take priority.

First of all, I highly recommend contacting the Disney Cruise Line directly as soon as you can. Cast Members will have access to information about your specific reservation and are best equipped to service your needs. You may also find relevant information in your cruise contract, particularly the contract specific to your region and individual reservation. The contract may refer to the "Cancellations/Refunds" section of the Booking Terms and Conditions, which may vary depending on your region and individual reservation.

In general terms, cruise cancellation fees depend on the length of the itinerary and the stateroom category. For example, cruises of five or fewer nights booked in a non-suite and non-concierge stateroom generally incur no cancellation fee if canceled at least 90 days before sailing. Between 89 and 45 days before embarkation, similar reservations may only require the deposit amount as a cancellation fee. Cancellations of such reservations, when made less than 45 days before the cruise, generally see a progressively higher cancellation fee, leading up to 100% of the cruise fare when cancelling 14 days or less before the cruise begins.

I understand that may not be the news you were hoping for. And, again, I highly recommend contacting a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member right away to ensure you are able to exercise any options available that are specific to your reservation contract and terms and conditions. Of course, I'm thinking happy thoughts and sending as much pixie dust your way as can be imagined to, hopefully, grant your wish of enjoying Where Magic Meets the Sea on a Disney cruise soon.

    Best wishes to you,
    ~Tony
