Hi, Susan, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My family absolutely loves celebrating birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort, so I'm happy to help you plan your grandson's big day!
As you know, children under three do not require tickets for admission to the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks. So what happens when, as in your case, your little guy celebrates his third birthday during your trip? Well, I have great news for you, Susan! Since your grandson will be two at the beginning of your vacation, he's considered a special Guest of Mickey Mouse for the entire trip and will be able to enter the Theme Parks for free each day for your whole stay. How's that for a little birthday pixie dust?
Susan, there are so many amazing
new things coming to the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts in the next couple of years! You're planning to visit at the perfect time, with
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge on the horizon, plus Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and a brand new way to get around with the
Disney Skyliner. Plus, you can play in Andy's backyard at
Toy Story Land and hop aboard classic attractions like
Dumbo the Flying Elephant and
"it's a small world." I know there's a lot to think about, so if you need some help planning your visit, check out
Disney's planning guide for parents of preschoolers. You'll find tons of ideas to have big fun with your little one at Walt Disney World!
I hope this helps you plan your grandson's magical birthday celebration, Susan. Please do come see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
