Hi, We will travel to Dusney World Fl in December.-surprice for my daughter's 7th birthday. I read a lot still difficult for me. On dec 15th we will be at Magic Kingdom and I would like to know which restaurant is the best for her Birthday cake.

Welcome to planDisney, Diana. I'm so glad you dropped by with your question.

Diana, we have celebrated birthdays at Walt Disney World in the past, and hope I can help as you're planning for your daughter's special day.

Birthday cakes are an important part of my family's traditions, so when my son turned 10, we knew we wanted to purchase a Mickey Mouse celebration cake to be brought out at the end of our meal. Inside Magic Kingdom Park, the following restaurants offer this option:
       - Be Our Guest Restaurant
       - Cinderella's Royal Table
       - The Crystal Palace
       - Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen
       - Liberty Tree Tavern
       - The Plaza Restaurant
       - Tony's Town Square Restaurant

Now, Diana, from the list above, you'll find that these restaurants vary greatly from each other in terms of price, experience, and cuisine. For example, Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella's Royal Table are only available with a prix-fixe menu (including dessert) which may be a bit too much food with the addition of a birthday cake. Depending on your daughter's palate, you may want to consider The Plaza Restaurant, Tony's Town Square Restaurant, or Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. All three of these dining locations allow for a la carte menu ordering, but I will encourage you to take a look at the menus for each before you decide. If your daughter likes chicken or burgers and fries, The Plaza Restaurant would be my top choice. If character dining is something she would love, The Crystal Palace (buffet-style) is home to Winnie the Pooh and friends and is a great choice with a lot of variety. The characters walk around throughout the meal and will stop and take photos with your birthday girl!

Diana, no matter which restaurant rises to the top of your dining list, I highly recommend making Advanced Dining Reservations. December is a popular time of year to visit and walk-up availability can be very limited or non-existent. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance of your visit through your My Disney Experience account or the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

I'll be wishing on a star that you find the perfect meal to celebrate your Mouseketeer's 7th birthday. From all of us here at planDisney, we wish you a wonderful vacation. Please come on back with any additional questions.
