Hey there, Penny! Thanks for stopping by planDisney and sharing your question with us!
Walt Disney once said, “Here in Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland…the blessing of size.” And at approximately 43 square miles, there’s no denying that Walt Disney World is BIG. Even experienced vacationers need help getting around sometimes.
Before we look at the different transportation options, be sure you have the
My Disney Experience app downloaded to your mobile device. Not only can the app help you make reservations, check in at your hotel, and manage your tickets, but it can also provide step-by-step directions with estimated travel times.
Your best option for getting to EPCOT from Animal Kingdom will be the
complimentary bus system. Bus schedules are subject to change, but there is usually a bus that runs directly from Animal Kingdom to EPCOT, and My Disney Experience estimates it to be a 40-minute journey at the time I’m writing this. You could also take a bus from Animal Kingdom to the Polynesian Village Resort, and then walk to the monorail station next door, which will take you to EPCOT. This would likely take longer, but it’s always good to have a backup plan!
Any time of year is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, but this spring is shaping up to be an extra magical time. Not only will the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival be in full swing, but two beloved attractions are expected to return from their refurbishment. Official dates haven’t been revealed yet, but the
Disney Parks Blog has shared that Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin are expected to reopen this spring. Hopefully, they reopen in time for your visit!
I hope this information is helpful, Penny, and that you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World. Pop right back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
