Hi, Grainne!
The Swan and Dolphin hotels are located at
Disney's Boardwalk area of Walt Disney World, which is my absolute favorite area to people watch, rent a Surrey bike, and catch a glimpse of Illuminations from Epcot! The Boardwalk also offers some great food like
Trattoria al Forno and delicious sweets from
Ample Hills Creamery! Ask to try all 16 flavors and you get a button!
These hotels are on Disney property but are not considered as a Walt Disney World Resort. However, Disney does provide bus transportation to and from the theme parks, including the Magic Kingdom. If walk over to the Boardwalk area, you can catch a boat or walk to the entrances of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
If you want to a faster way to get to Epcot or the Magic Kingdom, the Monorail resorts, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, are located on the Monorail line. From these resorts, you can also catch a boat from the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian and walk from The Contemporary.
Getting to Disney's Blizzard Beach requires a bus ride from any resort, including The Swan and Dolphin.
I hope this helps you to make a decision on your stay. Any choice you make will be fantastic...because you'll be on a Walt Disney World vacation!
Happy planning!
Korliss
