Hello there, Barbara!
I’m so glad that you found planDisney, because “this is the way” to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Witnessing my force-sensitive husband build a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of my top Disney memories. My midi-chlorian count skyrocketed when I saw him turn to pixie dust at the end of the experience. I hope you get to experience this too!
You should have no problem with the reservation under your name and your husband building the lightsaber as long as you are both there for check-in. Just remember that this experience is limited to one builder and one Guest. We were glad we showed up about 30 minutes before our reservation time to allow my husband to take his time and let the force flow through him before his journey.
If your husband is anything like mine, I’d recommend that he looks into the different paths, hilt themes, and kyber crystals ahead of time. After so many years of studying the force, this took my husband a bit of time to decide which one he wanted the most. Do you think he’ll be one with the force and be drawn to “Peace and Justice,” or will he lean towards “Power and Control”?
Pro tip: If your husband feels limited by only choosing one kyber crystal, he can always go to
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for some special additional customization items afterward.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
