Our travel agent recommended not putting the yellow Magical Express tags on our bags until we claim our them at the Orlando International Airport. If we follow her advice and put the tags on after arriving what do we then do with our bags at the airport?

My belief is that if you do not put the tags on the bags before you check them at your home airport, you should assume that you are now going to be in charge of your bags the rest of that arrival day of your trip. You can't be sure you will get to the baggage to put the tags on before handlers have already gone through and picked out the Walt Disney World-bound bags.

Perhaps their suggestion was meant to get you to take the bags onto the Magical Express bus yourself, so that you have your bags on arrival at the resort. This way you have them right away. All you would need to do is get your bags from the carrousel as you would on any other trip, take them to the Magical Express area, and they can put the bags in the storage area of the bus for the trip to your hotel. Putting the tags on in this instance would not really do anything.

I cannot imagine what else they might mean. If they meant for the bags to be collected and transported to the resort by the Magical Express staff, I see no reason why you would not put the tags on to begin with. They are perfectly sturdy enough to make the trip, so I am guessing that my original reasoning might be what they were suggesting.

I hope this helps? If you have any follow-up questions, please feel free to write me back!

    Have a magical vacation!
