If a travel agent makes your vacation can you still make your own dinner and events reservations?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mary!

The answer to your question is a resounding, "yes!" If a travel agent books your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you may still make your own dinner, FastPass+ and tour reservations. Most experienced travel agents work with you to determine how much responsibility you would like to take for planning the intricate details of your trip. Some guests like their travel agent to "take the wheel" on the reservation and plan everything. Other guests prefer to handle everything but the original booking themselves.

For example, I fall into the latter category. A local travel agent with more than twenty years of experience makes the hotel and Disney's Magical Express reservations for the school trip I lead each spring. Then I map out our itinerary, make dining reservations 180 days prior to our arrival, order theme park tickets, book FastPass+ reservations 60 days before our trip and figure out how the group will travel from one event to the next during our stay.

If you decide to utilize the services of a travel agent to book your vacation, be sure to pick one who will enable you to retain as much control over your itinerary as you would like to have. For many of us, the planning process is nearly as much fun as the vacation itself. If you're one of those people, you don't want to miss out on any of the satisfaction that a well-planned trip brings.

Don't forget that the Disney Parks Moms Panel is here in case you need any additional advice as you plan.

Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
