Will Trattoria al Forno breakfast character dining be returning? Any chance resort fun runs will be returning?

Hi there Nanya, and welcome to planDisney!

From the sounds of it, you've definitely been to Walt Disney World Resort enough to remember some of the offerings and experiences that folks and families alike used to enjoy so much before they were discontinued. Come to think of it, over the past few years there have been a number of things that have been retired whether announced or otherwise and with a little bit of research, here's some insight into these two experiences that I got from Cast Members:

    • I've always thought that the Bon Voyage breakfast at Trattoria al Forno was one of the very best values when it came to meeting characters that were otherwise quite rare to encounter on a normal basis such as Prince Eric and Flynn Rider (otherwise known as Eugene Fitzherbert). Unfortunately when I stopped by Disney's BoardWalk recently to enjoy some Sunrise Breakfast Pizza from their delectable morning menu, we were dismayed to discover that the former offering of being able to order items to go was no longer available and that the Cast Members there did not know neither when nor whether Character Dining would ever return to their location. (This could however be subject to change without prior notice, especially as even Cast Members have been surprised about changes to offerings suddenly returning - but for now this does not appear to be coming back in the near future unless a massive change occurs soon after I write this.)
    • Now whether you've previously participated in a Topolino Trot around Disney's Riviera Resort or perhaps a Beignet Dash at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter along the edge of the Sassagoula River, you may be among the multitudes of guests who sorely miss these fun runs taking place on select days of the week. Unfortunately however, the Recreation Cast Members were unable to provide any information nor insight as to whether we'd be seeing these return again either and could only encourage guests to check the posted Recreation Activities for updated offerings.
As with any experiences at Disney Destinations, there's always a chance that old or defunct offerings could make a surprise comeback - so it's always a good idea to stay up to date with the Disney Parks Blog to keep an eye out in case anything like this is ever announced! Be sure to come back to us here at planDisney if you do hear of anything changing ahead of your next visit and we'll be sure to look into it for you to confirm.

Here's to all of the experiences we miss, and to all the new things out there on the horizon!
