Hello, Lisa thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Transportation at the
Walt Disney World Resort is very similar to the north where I live. Plenty of methods to get to certain places. And other locations only have one way to get there. Navigating the resorts while using the buses and other methods takes some research. I’m glad you reached out because I know I can help get you from resort to resort.
A lot of folks have advanced dining reservations on days you aren’t visiting the parks. This is how I operate while I am on vacation. If you don’t have the use of a car you will need to use the bus, waterways, and skyways to go from resort to resort. Luckily from your location, you can take a bus and will have to do some walking. It is a one-pony trip so you won’t have to transfer to another method of travel. When you are leaving
Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside you will want to find the South Depot and hop on the first bus to
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Once you arrive you will want to make sure you walk towards the lake. It is south and will be about a 16-minute walk from here along the lake. The area you are looking for is the EPCOT Resorts- Hollywood Studio Connector. You will want to make sure the lake is on your left as you walk along the path. On your walk, you will see
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn on the right and the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel on the left across the lake. Continue on until you see Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall and make a right towards them. You will know you have made it to the
Disney's BoardWalk when you see the “boards” under your feet. I need to mention
BoardWalk Ice Cream because it is a wonderful place to grab a cold snack after or before that walk.
Buses run 45 minutes before park opening so you would need to check the opening time for Hollywood Studios to know when to start to line up. This trip by bus and with the walk is a total time of about 52 minutes. But I always say plan for 1.5 hours total travel time using the buses from door to door. If you do have a reservation that you don’t think you will make because it is too early I would recommend calling a
Minnie Van connected by Lyft for a more direct trip with less travel time.
I hope this information is useful. You are just about 30 days away and I can’t explain how fast that time usually goes. If you have any other questions visit us again before your visit at
planDisney.com and we will be happy to help.
Have a magical stay,
Jeremy A.
