Ahoy there, Sarah!
Welcome back to planDisney!
Planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation is like prepping for a royal ball—you’ve got to get all the details just right before the big day! And transportation is a key part of making sure your journey to the ship is as smooth as Olaf on summer sand.
When it comes to
Disney’s ground transportation to Port Canaveral, it is currently only offered from Orlando International Airport (MCO) or from Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Unfortunately, shuttle service is not available directly from Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB). I know that might be a bit of a “whoomp-whomp” moment (as my son would say), but don’t hang up your glass slippers just yet!
Here’s a little pixie-dusted workaround: you can
call Disney Cruise Line directly to ask about private ground transfers. These are not always guaranteed and are subject to availability, but if they can work a little magic, they’ll give you a quote for a private vehicle to the port. While I can't promise Fairy Godmother-level transformations, I have seen this option work before—especially if arranged early.
Now, speaking from personal experience as someone who has flown into Melbourne Airport before, sometimes the lower airfare really is too good to pass up (I’m looking at you, budget-friendly flight deals!). If that's the route you're taking, there are some third-party shuttle services and rideshare options that can take you straight to
Port Canaveral. It’s typically about a 45-minute ride, though it can vary depending on traffic—so plan a little wiggle room, just in case the Seven Dwarfs decide to work on the roads that day!
Sarah, I hope this helps you find the smoothest route to start your high-seas adventure. If you need help choosing the best arrival time or want tips for making embarkation day a breeze, feel free to sail back my way.
Sea ya real soon with a June full of sun, sea, and shipshape adventures,
Dustin
