Is there transportation from a resort to the cruise port? We want to come down two days before the cruise and stay at a resort and do two days at the parks. Then, leave from the resort to the cruise port.

    Hiya Amber!

Welcome to planDisney! Amber, are you reading my mind? I just decided to do the same thing for an upcoming Disney cruise line vacation!

I think it's a fabulous idea to enjoy a few days in the Parks and experience magic on land before setting sail for a magical time on the open seas! One of the things that I will be reserving very soon for my upcoming trip is my Ground Transportation from the Resort to the port. There is a cost per person but it is a very convenient service. You will receive luggage tags that you will place on your bags and the lovely air-conditioned bus will transport you in style to the port. You will have to speak with your Travel Agent if you used one or just contact the friendly Cast Members at Disney Cruise Line to add it to your reservation.

I am also considering using a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft but I love the convenience of my luggage being handled for me while sitting in the comfort and under the care of Mickey Mouse and his team. I want to make sure you read through the prohibited item list as on one trip I had my suitcase delayed in getting to my cabin and it was because I had some over-the-door hooks that were not allowed to be brought on the ship. They were allowed on other cruise lines but not Disney Cruise Line. I was so embarrassed as I am a rule follower but Disney Cruise Line Cast Members just held onto the item from my suitcase and I was able to pick it up when we arrived back on land. I was very glad that everything I needed for that day was in my carry-on backpack. I suggest prepping your bags well so that if anything is delayed, you have everything you need for a fabulous first day on the ship.

    Happy planning!
