I have 2 transportation questions. What is the best way to get from MK to Downtown Disney? What is the best way to get from POR, where we are staying, to The Cape May Cafe for a 9:40 am breakfast? Thanks so much!!!!

Hi, Katherine! I don't want to confuse you, but here are some options when trying to get to Downtown Disney from the Magic Kingdom (assuming normal operating hours):

    • Take Disney transportation to your (or any) Disney resort and take direct transportation to DTD.
    • Walk to The Contemporary and take a bus to Downtown Disney. (Bus transportation is located right outside the resort's main entrance.)
    • Take a bus from the Magic Kingdom to Saratoga Springs and get off at Congress Park. Take the pedestrian path over to Downtown Disney...or you can get off at The Springs and take a water taxi
    • Lastly, take a monorail or ferryboat to the Ticket & Transportation Center and then, transfer to a bus to Downtown Disney

I wanted to make sure you knew your options in case one of those modes of transportation is more appealing to your group than others.

For your mid-morning breakfast at Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club, I would take a bus from POR to Epcot and transfer to a bus to The Yacht & Beach Clubs. If you have a park ticket for the day, you can plan to arrive a little early and meander through the Epcot. Although the pavilions of World Showcase won't be open, you can stroll through Canada and the UK on your way to the International Gate. Then, you can either take a water taxi or make the short walk over to The Beach Club. If you happen to have overslept, the quickest and most direct route is to call for a taxi from your resort directly to The Beach Club -- it may cost around $15 but sometimes is worth it not to have to arrive out of breath, stressed out and late! I hope this helps!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
