Hi, transportation ?s. What are the options and routes for getting from AoA to Mickey's BBQ and back when it is over. And what is the best way from AoA to/from Chef Mickey breakfast?

Hi Ivy! Transportation is always on the minds of Disney vacationers. The most difficult is to get from resort to resort but it just takes a little longer.

Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is located in Fort Wilderness. Your best bet to reach this destination is to get the bus from Art of Animation to the Magic Kingdom. From there hop on the Fort Wilderness boat which will be located just in front of the entrance. There will be signs with the Fort Wilderness boat being on the right side and Wilderness Lodge being on the left side of the dock area. Once the boat reaches the Fort it is a mere five minute walk to the Backyard Barbecue area. The pathway is off to the right of Pioneer Hall and again there will be signs and often a cast member to direct you.

You did not mention your reservation time for your Chef Mickey's breakfast. If it is very early then I always suggest you get a cab from your resort and make it less stressful for yourselves. Buses are supposed to start running at 6:30am for these early dining reservations but it doesn't always happen. When the reservation is a bit later then I suggest you again take the Magic Kingdom bus and either hop on the resort monorail which is the left side one or even walk to the Contemporary resort.

Give yourself plenty of time for each destination as you will often have to wait for a bus to arrive or a boat or a monorail.
