Hi Lisa, thank you for coming to planDisney with your question about transportation from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. I used to look forward to the official start of my Disney vacation when my family and I boarded Disney’s Magical Express, but since that service has ceased operations, let’s explore alternative methods.
The Walt Disney World Help Center will guide you toward The Car Care Center, located near Magic Kingdom Park, Lyft, and other airport options, even providing
approximate rates you could expect.
In addition to those recommendations, there are companies offering services similar to what Disney’s Magical Express used to provide. In my research, those companies will charge approximately $30-$35 per adult and $25-$30 per child for a round trip ride to/from the airport to a
Disney Resort Collection hotel, with pricing subject to change.
Renting a car would provide added flexibility to your visit, especially with Disney Resort hotels offering c
omplimentary overnight self-parking. However, with complimentary
Walt Disney World Resort Transportation, including bus, water, monorail, and Disney Skyliner transportation, you may find that you will park your rental and not use it again until it is time to drive back to the airport.
One highly recommended option, once you are on property, is the
Minnie Van service, connected by Lyft. Minnie Van vehicles are Disney-themed, driven by Cast Members, can accommodate up to six guests, and can be requested through the Lyft app by tapping on “Select Minnie Van”. I will caution you, though, once you use Minnie Van service, you may not want to use anything else!
I hope this information assists you with getting to and from the airport on your upcoming vacation. Regardless of which option you choose to fit your budget, I know that you will have an amazing vacation.
Thanks,
Brent
