What is the transportation internally like for CBR and POR? Are there a lot of internal stops? POFQ is not an option as they are booked, was our 1st choice. Which do you recommend? Thanks!!

    Shannon:

    Thanks for the question!

Both Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans: Riverside have bus transportation to all four theme parks just like Port Orleans: French Quarter. However, unlike POFQ, which has only one bus stop, the other two have multiple bus stops on their campuses. The moderate hotel campuses are vast and without those extra stops, you'd have a lot of unhappy guests....but the flip side is those stops add about 10 minutes to your commute to the parks, especially if the bus needs to stop for guests using ECVs or wheelchairs.

If I had my pick between Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans: Riverside, I'd have to look at factors other than bus transportation since on that issue, they're equal. The ferry from POR to Downtown Disney gave it the leg up for our family when we stayed there several years ago along with its trundle beds that allowed us to sleep our youngest on the floor. However, the theming was lost on our family who lives in South Mississippi.

If you have young boys who enjoy all things pirate or if you think you'd spend more than one visit to the hotel pool, CBR would be a memorable choice. The pirate-themed pool, along with its water play area for pre-schoolers, is worth the stay alone. Plus, for a small fee, you can upgrade to the preferred pirate rooms featuring pirate ship beds and "plank" flooring! Without younger children to enjoy these details, you'd be better at POR, in my opinion.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
