Frances,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at
Sanaa on our Thanksgiving trip to Walt Disney World! While the kids loved to check out the animal viewing areas and the amazing decor, the food was the star of the show. Now if only I knew how to make naan bread!
There are a few ways to get from Fort Wilderness to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Officially you are supposed to take a bus to Disney Springs, where you would then transfer to a bus to the Animal Kingdom resorts. That route works well enough, with ride times of a little more than an hour. Of course, you also have to schedule some wait times for the buses you take to arrive at both Fort Wilderness and Disney Springs. But, depending on the time of day, there might be a few faster choices.
My top suggestion, if you are not at risk of needing to ride after the posted park closing time, is to take a bus from Fort Wilderness to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. After that initial 40-minute bus ride, you are a short 10-minute ride away from your culinary destination. I also think that this route seems to go faster in terms of both actual ride time and the necessary waiting for a bus to arrive at each starting point.
The only immediate alternative to that would be to boat to the Magic Kingdom, then bus to the resort. But while that may be more scenic, it won't save you time and is more prone to delays or cancellations. So I would say using Animal Kingdom Park as your midway point is your best bet.
BONUS TIPIf you have time, make your way over to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House to see the amazing Christmas tree in the lobby. It is not like any you have seen before, and the themed decorations are amazing!
