    Is there transportation from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to Downtown Disney? Also, what stops, restaurants, and activities are recommended for a 5 year old boy in this area of WDW?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jaime ~

    My boys love Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. The Fuentes del Morro Pool and shipwreck play area are awesome for little swashbucklers.

    There is bus transportation to Downtown Disney from the Caribbean Beach Resort where you'll find lots of great shops, restaurants and activities for a 5 year old boy. Here are some that my boys love:

    * T-Rex Café - Be sure to check out the Paleo Dig to dig for fossils and the gift shop.
    * Rainforest Café
    * LEGO Imagination Center
    * Once Upon a Toy - In addition to toys, Star Wars fans can build their own lightsabers or Droids there.
    * DisneyQuest - (If he's really into video games. I'll warn you though, its loud).
    * Splitsville (bowling)
    * AMC 24 Theaters
    * Marketplace Carousel
    * Marketplace Train Express
    * Watch Characters In Flight (or ride if he's an adventurous 5 year old)

    In the warmer months there are fountains near Once Upon A Toy that kids love to splash around in.

    In the Marketplace Area, there is usually some sort of live music in front of Fulton's Crab House in the evenings that the whole family can enjoy. Be sure to stop by the Waterside Stage. Depending on the time of the year you visit, they may have live performances or a DJ Kids Dance Party.

    You can usually find live music in the evenings in front of Wetzel's Pretzels on the West Side.

    Also in the evenings, just before you head out of the Pleasure Island section towards the West Side, we've often seen "live statutes" and other fun entertainment so be sure to stroll through that area.

    You can pick up a Times Guide at Downtown Disney that will list some of the Entertainment hours.

    Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We're hEAR for you! Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
