Hi there Jieun, and welcome to planDisney!
As your online resource for all things related to Disney Parks and Destinations around the world, I'm always happy to provide international guests with a little bit of nautical knowledge and tips before you set sail! It looks like you're getting ready to embark on a
5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale with Marvel Day at Sea in January!
As you might know, the
Disney Dream has been sailing from a number of new Ports of Call for the very first time in 2023, and it's quite relatively new for Disney Cruise Line to call
Fort Lauderdale its second year-round home port. I reached out to a Disney Cruise Line Representative who confirmed that unfortunately at this time, there are no direct ground transportation options provided through them to convey guests from Walt Disney World Resort to Port Everglades. Disney Cruise Line
may be able to provide assistance with things like
flight arrangements to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) or
ground transportation options for Pre- and Post-Cruise Hotel Stays at the hotels they're partnered with. As with anything with Disney Cruise Line, offerings are always subject to availability and may change without prior notice so it's worth keeping an eye out to see whether this information is different as the Disney Dream continues to sail from Fort Lauderdale in the future.
In my personal experience as a seasoned traveler, the drive from Walt Disney World Resort to Fort Lauderdale can take several hours even though some folks may find it economical to rent a car and make the journey down to the coast. The fastest option by far is to find a quick flight from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) located very close to where the cruise ships dock in Port Everglades, which can be very reasonably priced at various times of the year, with a high speed train journey coming in as a great secondary option through providers such as Brightline.
I hope that this helps you plan your journeys ahead Jieun, and I'm excited for you to be able to experience everything in store during the
Marvel Day at Sea celebrations on board. There are some fantastic photo opportunities and
superheroes that you can meet who you don't get the chance to see at Walt Disney World Resort right now, and I also hope that you have a great costume planned for you to wear during these marvellous moments. Don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney for any more tips and tricks ahead of your next Disney adventure!
Here's to setting sail with superheroes in the new year!
