Welcome to planDisney, Jessica!
I’m so glad you’ve stopped by with your question. Arrival day at
the Walt Disney World Resort is always filled with so much excitement as it’s just the beginning of your Magical visit! While my family and I have treated arrival day differently on each trip, my favorite thing to do when we first step foot on Walt Disney World Property is explore our
Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
Now, Jessica, in order to kick back and relax at your resort, let’s talk about transportation from the airport. As of January 1, 2022, Disney’s Magical Express will officially retire and guests will be responsible to coordinate their own transportation to and from the airport.
Jessica, this has been a popular topic of conversation at my house and my husband and I have been discussing options for our next trip. One of the choices is Mears Connect. This service, operated by the same provider that previously staffed Disney’s Magical Express, will offer a similar service with buses and vans. A quick search of “Mears Connect” will show you pricing and how to book online. I recently learned about another option, similar in style (using buses): “Sunshine Flyer.” Like Mears Connect, this can be booked online and a quick search will yield prices.
Jessica, depending on your party size and needs, you may also want to consider a local car service, rideshare service like uber or lyft or even a rental car. With a number of rental car companies conveniently located at the Orlando International Airport, this has become a popular choice (especially if you like to be in control of your own schedule). If you choose this option, please make sure to factor in
parking fees at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel.
Jessica, I hope this information is helpful as you’re planning ahead for your upcoming trip. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where we are always happy to say, “come aboard!”
