Hi Deirdre!
Since there's nothing I love more than sharing Disney-planning tips with a fellow Buckeye, I'm glad to welcome you to planDisney. Can you believe you'll be arriving at
Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks?! That means now is a great time to finalize all those last-minute planning details, like making sure you've booked your
Disney Park Pass reservations, starting to gather everything you'll need in your park bag, and of course, deciding how you'll get to and from the airport. Let's take a look at some popular airport transportation options to help make your Walt Disney World Resort arrival and departure as easy as possible.
While Walt Disney World Resort's complimentary bus service to and from Orlando International Airport,
Disney's Magical Express, was discontinued at the end of 2021, there are still plenty of great transportation options available. If you're looking for a bus service similar to the Magical Express, Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer both offer transportation between the airport and
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. Information about pricing, scheduling, and reservations for this service can be found on each company's respective website. Another great option is to utilize a rideshare service, like Lyft or Uber. This is probably my favorite way to get to and from the airport when I visit Walt Disney World –– I love that rides can be quickly and easily scheduled from the app on my phone, rather than having to plan my arrival and departure times way in advance. You might also consider scheduling a private car service or renting a car to use during your stay. If you're traveling with little ones and you'll be bringing your own car seats, renting a car could be an especially-convenient choice –– just be sure to factor in the
cost of overnight parking at your Disney Resort's Collection Hotel when deciding if renting a car is right for your family.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Dierdre. I hope this helps provide a piece of the transportation puzzle, but if you think of more questions, please don't hesitate to stop by again. No matter how you get there, I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation is filled with pixie-dusted adventures and safe travels from beginning to end!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
