can I transfer tickets (bought in a hotel package) to magic bands for separate use or is there no way to transfer tickets if they’re bought in a package?

Hi Samantha! Welcome back to planDisney!

It sounds like you have a Walt Disney World vacation on the horizon. There is nothing quite like the anticipation leading up to your stay and all the unforgettable memories that you will make during your trip.

When booking a vacation package that includes your Disney Resorts hotel and park tickets, all the Guests on the reservation will be linked to the resort room and ticket package. Only Guests listed on this reservation will be able to use the park tickets and they are not transferable to any other Guests outside of the reservation. Guests that are included in this package will have the option to purchase MagicBands that their tickets will be linked to once the MagicBands are linked to that Guest.

Depending on the arrival date of your trip, you may be able to modify your existing vacation package to better suit your needs. If you can make changes and your park tickets are purchased separately from your Disney Resorts hotel room, then you can link these tickets to any Guest that you prefer. Essentially, you can reserve your resort room on its own, and then purchase tickets based on who will need them.

The biggest caveat is when a room reservation is combined with park tickets, everyone on the room reservation must have the same ticket package for their stay. If purchased a-la-carte, you can then assign your park tickets to the Guests you would like. MagicBands can be purchased by any Guest and linked to their account to use for their tickets. The options are endless when it comes to the amount of choices you have when deciding on your MagicBand+!

Samantha, I suggest calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line and speaking to a Cast Member for further assistance. They will be able to pull up your reservation and find out what your options are.

I hope you have a magical time during your stay! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!
