Can you transfer ticket to someone else?

    Hi, Sara!

Welcome to planDisney. As fellow Disney Parks Guests like you, we are here to provide insights to help make your visit to the Disneyland Resort as magical as possible.

I experienced a situation similar to yours not too long ago. Our family planned an exciting trip to the Disneyland Resort with everyone. But at the last minute, one member of our party was unable to come with us. There we were, driving from Utah to California, with one extra ticket. So I texted a friend who lives in California and asked if they could use the extra ticket. Fortunately, it worked out great! My friend couldn’t arrive at the Disneyland Resort until a while after my family. So I texted them a screenshot of the eTicket so they could use it to enter the park without us. When they arrived, they showed the eTicket code to the Cast Member at the park entrance to activate the ticket and enjoy a magical time at the Disneyland Resort.

Here are some things to keep in mind when transferring a Disneyland Resort theme park ticket:

    • The eTicket terms and conditions indicate that tickets may not be sold.
    • Only wholly-unused tickets may be transferred. Once a ticket is activated, only the Guest who first used the ticket may continue to use that ticket during the remainder of the ticket’s validity.
    • Any eligibility requirements for a theme park ticket, such as residency requirements for certain promotional tickets, must be met by whoever uses the ticket.
    • In most cases, it is OK if the name associated with an eTicket does not match the name of the person actually using it. If you wish to request the attached name be changed, you may reach out to a Cast Member on the Tickets phone line.
    • Just in case, I recommend retaining the ticket confirmation information email. Should there be any issues with activating the ticket, that confirmation may be required. It’s also best to have both a photo ID and the original form of payment to verify the ticket purchase.

Regardless of who may be going with you, I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Sara!
