How can I transfer a ticket I bought for my adult child to me? (He will not be utilizing the ticket.)

    Hi there, Danielle,

I’m sorry to hear your child won’t be able to make it. A similar circumstance happened to our family a few years ago. But we made the best of it by sharing the extra ticket with a family friend instead.

In our case, we simply shared a screenshot of the Disney eTicket displayed in the Disneyland mobile app with our friend. Even though the name on the ticket did not match our friend’s name, it wasn’t a problem. The Cast Member at the park entrance takes a photograph of the Guest using a ticket and digitally attaches it to the ticket. So an ID card or other means of identification isn’t necessary. That photo will be the way the Cast Members will know who is using a given ticket.

If you would like to transfer a ticket from one account to another or if you would prefer to change the name linked to the ticket, you will need to call the Tickets phone line. Transferring a ticket like that may be needed to allow for the modification of theme park reservations for that ticket. Be sure to have the ticket purchase confirmation number handy. And the original form of payment may be needed as well.

Tony’s Tip: To manage multiple theme park tickets, you may choose to use just one account in the Disneyland mobile app. With all of your party’s tickets linked to a single account, it’s possible to display all tickets for park entrance, book Genie+ Lightning Lanes, purchase individual Lightning Lane return times, and more. For convenience in taking turns managing Lightning Lane return times or for splitting into smaller groups, you may also choose to link tickets to multiple accounts. This could even be a simple way to share an extra park ticket with another party.

Even without your adult child, I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Danielle.
