Greetings, Riza! From one Magic Key holder to another, welcome to planDisney! The renewal window is a great time to reflect on your
Magic Key pass. During that window, which typically begins 30 days before the expiration date, you can choose to upgrade or downgrade your pass based on what works best for you.
That said,
Magic Key passes are nontransferable, even during the renewal window. If you, for example, have a pass, you'd either
renew it for yourself or let it expire. Someone who doesn't yet have a Magic Key can purchase one whenever the passes are available for sale, which currently includes the
Inspire and
Believe Key passes (while supplies last). The Enchant and Imagine Key annual passes may become available at a future date, though we don't yet know when.
In the meantime, you may be interested in a
special offer for California residents within ZIP codes 90000-96199. Starting December 3, 2025, eligible Guests can purchase a 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket for visits between January 1 and May 21, 2026, for $249. These tickets don't have to be used on consecutive days, meaning visits can be spaced out if desired. Guests using these tickets will, however, need to show a government-issued photo ID to confirm eligible residency.
There's an option to
upgrade an eligible theme park ticket to a Magic Key pass – in this case, the price paid for the ticket could be applied towards an available Magic Key pass, with
certain restrictions. This could be an option if, for example, a Guest has the 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket and the Magic Key they want becomes available. As long as they do the upgrade before midnight on the last day they use their multi-day ticket, it should be possible.
There is a lot to look forward to at the Disneyland Resort in 2026. The
70th Anniversary Celebration will continue through the summer, with other events sprinkling in fun, such as
Lunar New Year festivities, the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, and
celebrations for America’s 250th Anniversary.
I do love that my Magic Key pass makes it possible for me to visit the Disneyland Resort throughout the year to experience these kinds of events. There are also extras and experiences just for Magic Key holders, which you can check out in the Magic Key portal on the
Disneyland mobile app or
on the website.
Riza, regardless of how you move forward with your Magic Key, I hope you'll still have a chance to make happy memories at the Disneyland Resort. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney.
Your pal,
Kriss
