I have a trans son who is 18 years old but has not officially changed his name yet. Is it OK if I make the reservation in his name (not his birth/dead name). He has a college ID with his name. Will this be acceptable?

Hello, Brad! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad that you’ve brought us your question. You seem like a very considerate and wonderful father, and I am so delighted that you will soon be taking a vacation with your son!

As far as reserving your Disney Vacation Package, your son’s name should be fine to be entered as shown on his college ID. Mickey does not check identification at the entrance to his kingdoms, so he should be all set! I have also confirmed this with Guest Services. In fact, if you use Online Check-In and link your Park Tickets to MagicBands or Admission Cards, you will be able to bypass any physical check-ins altogether and head directly for your adventures! You can easily achieve this via your My Disney Experience account.

Brad, I hope that this information helps you continue to make plans for your wonderful family trip! Before your visit, make sure you’ve taken a look at the Experience Updates pages, where you will find all the information regarding the availability of experiences and attractions and help you to know even more what to expect on your next vacation! That Disney magic we all know and love is waiting for us whenever we are ready to be back. If we can be of any further assistance as you keep planning, I invite you to please come back and see us again very soon!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Clara
