Hi Sharon! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
Who doesn't love a train? Walt Disney himself loved trains and we love them in my family too. We always make sure to take a loop around Disneyland Park on the iconic
Disneyland Railroad. It not only takes you through picturesque lands and dioramas, but it's also a good opportunity to rest your feet during a long park day.
Unfortunately, due to ongoing construction, the Disneyland Railroad has been temporarily closed since August of this year. There's a lot of magic happening behind the scenes in that area of the park.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure is set to open in Critter Country in November, which has been much awaited, and in New Orleans Square, the
Haunted Mansion, which is currently decked out in a spooky fun holiday overlay, currently has no standby queue and can be accessed by a virtual queue with limited availability as refurbishment continues on the queue. These construction projects, which will improve the Guest experience and bring new magic to the park, meant the Disneyland Railroad needed to temporarily pause operation, but it won't be forever! Schedules are subject to change, but hopefully, our wait is almost over. I know it's always disappointing when an Attraction we've looked forward to experiencing is currently unavailable. We missed out on the Haunted Mansion on our most recent visit, and those happy haunts were certainly missed!
We don't yet have an official announcement about when to expect those trains to start chugging along the tracks again. You can check the
Daily Events Schedule, which includes refurbishment information. It's regularly updated with the most current details. It looks as though the Disneyland Train will not be operational today, but if you're visiting over multiple days, change the date at the top to see what refurbishments you can expect, as well as other fun information on parades, entertainment, fireworks, and more.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
