Choo Choo Jonathan! All aboard and welcome to the planDisney train!
I see much like Walt Disney himself and me, I am talking to a fellow train fan. I had the crazy luck to be at
Magic Kingdom Park days before the
Walt Disney World Railroad went dark to make way for the TRON Lightcycle Power Run in Tomorrowland. With the onset of the pandemic, construction was delayed but is now in full force. However, at this time Disney has not made any formal announcements on the return of the railroad service. Hint, with a quick google search you can monitor construction progress.
So what are train lovers to do in the meantime to curve that needs to ride the railways and hear the whistle at Walt Disney World Resort? For me, I head on over to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park straight to Africa and board the
Wildlife Express Train to the
Conservation Station to view the veterinary procedures periodically in progress. After the ride back to Africa, you cannot miss a guided Savanna tour on
Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Lastly, during the recent "Planes, Trains, and Monorails" panel at Destination D23, it was announced Walt Disney World Railway Train Engine 1 received a refurbishment. They also hinted new surprises are coming! I cannot wait for the "All Aboard" call. You can keep an eye out on the
daily calendar on attractions closed for refurbishment.
Keeping it Magical,
Cindy
