Trails End Rest. Should we make a reservation? It's quick service, yes? Going for breakfast on 11/4/13 and it's one of our "relaxing" days and I would prefer not to be tied to a reservation..just get there when we get there kind of thing. Thank

Hi Dawn!  I certainly hope you will have a chance to enjoy the great Trails End restaurant located in the Fort Wilderness resort area.  This  is actually a table service spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and Dinner will be large buffet offerings and lunch will be a menu service.

There is a small section for walk up quick service offerings located on the left side. There will not be tables available inside the dining room for those who choose to use the take out option. For breakfast you can choose to take out a Bounty Breakfast for $8.79 that consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, hashed browns, toast and biscuit. Or you can consider  just a few items such as muffin, cinnamon roll, sticky bun, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, fruit, or yogurt. You can use the take out breakfast menu from 7:30-11:30am each day. There are a few picnic tables in the area you might find free to enjoy your breakfast but you also need to consider what the weather might be on that day. Another option is to carry your breakfast down to the beach where you will find several umbrella covered tables that are rarely used in the morning hours.

On a side note I do love the breakfast buffet at Trails End. It is quite a country style spread and a very relaxing way to start your day. Although many guests do tend to rush off to the parks each morning it is still recommended you get a reservation to assure that a table will be available. You can try walk up but I have never done this. I try to pick a time when I feel my family will all be able to get there without it being a hassle. I know that isn't always easy!
