Can the trails at Animal Kingdom be accessed via a scooter? Are there any limited mobility issues that I might encounter at Animal Kingdom? Thank you, Sara

    Jambo Sara! Welcome to planDisney.

Are you ready for a wild time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (my current favorite theme park at Walt Disney World Resort)? This massive park is truly an Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) friendly location. You will be able to stay in your scooter on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, Discovery Island Trails, and Maharajah Jungle Trek. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Oh, protip, grab your morning latté from Creature Comforts and head to Discovery Island Trail to see the Galapagos tortoises have their breakfast.

You will be happy to know, you can remain in your scooter for the live performances of the Festival of the Lion King in Africa and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! in Dinoland U.S.A. Almost all attraction queue lines can accommodate your scooter as well. Over near the Tree of Life, you can stay in your scooter for It's Tough to be a Bug!

I am also linking Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities for a complete guide to all attractions. This will cover which rides you can remain in your scooter, those you have to transfer to the ride vehicle, those you need to transfer from a scooter to a wheelchair, etc. And finally, I suggest bringing a colorful bandana, ribbon, or sign to tie to your ECV. This will help you identify your ride in a sea of similar-looking vehicles.

    Keeping it Magical,
