Hiya Lindsay, it's always nice to see you at planDisney!
I can tell we are kindred spEARits. I, too, love the atmosphere of both
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. My husband and I honeymooned at the Polynesian and there's something about a Spikey Pineapple that takes me back to a simpler chapter of life. I also love the charm and elegance of
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Combining a visit to both resorts during the same visit is a match made in Fantasyland or, in this case, the monorail loop.
You can absolutely walk from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian, Lindsay. In fact, I recommend it! The walk should take you 10-15 minutes, depending on your room location and how long you stop to gaze at Disney's Wedding Pavilion - or is that just me?
A monorail ride could easily take you twice as long by the time you wait for a monorail and make it to the fourth stop on the resort monorail loop. For reference, the ride back to the Grand Floridian is only one stop.
Now let's take a moment to answer the question your inner Isabella is asking, which is, "What else can I do?" Well, Lindsay, with deluxe accommodations at the Grand Floridian, you can walk, ride the monorail, or take a boat to
Magic Kingdom park. At the end of a long park day, you can unwind with a drink at the
Enchanted Rose lounge or enjoy dessert and
Disney Enchantment fireworks viewing at
Gasparilla Island Grill. On a resort day, you can enjoy a nice meal at
Cítricos or take the monorail two stops to
Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Walt Disney World is your oyster this October and I can't wait to see where magical opportunities lead you. I hope they lead you back to planDisney again soon.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
