We use the Toy Story parking lot to take the Art bus to Disneyland. We stay close for this perk. With 3 kids, walking a mile to the park now that the busses will be no longer operating from this lot, is not practical and not ideal. What’s the plan now?

Hi, Tara. Welcome back to planDisney!

I understand how valuable a convenient trip from your hotel to the park can be, especially with three kids! More important than getting there is the trip back to your hotel at the end of a long park day when everyone is tired. Right now, the hardest part is just the uncertainty.

It’s difficult to say exactly what will happen, since we don’t have an official statement about the future of transportation from the Toy Story lot. My planDisney pal, Michelle, spoke with a cast member who assured her that the buses are currently running reliably. A spokesperson for ART said they have no information on what will happen to the Toy Story lot at this time. Right now, the best we can say is to continue to monitor the situation and check back as you get closer to your trip. Taking a rideshare from your hotel or even parking at the Mickey and Friends or Pixar Pals Parking Structures may be a better option than walking. If you're still looking for a hotel, be sure to search for a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel and check the box labeled “Free Transportation to the Disneyland Resort” under amenities.

While we can’t speculate on what the solution to this transportation issue will be, I can say for certain that you’re in for an awesome time at the Disneyland Resort. Did you know that you’ll be visiting during one of my favorite festivals of the year? The Food and Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure will drive away your transportation concerns with delectable bites from March 6th to April 23rd. Disney Parks Blogs will surely post a foodie guide, so check back to scope out all the delicious dishes you want to try. Yum!

Tara, the good news is that you’ve planned a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, and you’re going to make some magical memories! Don’t hesitate to bring more of your planning questions to planDisney. I’d be happy to help you in any way I can! Have a magical day!
