Are there any tours at The Animal Kingdom or in the Resorts? I like to give my husband a new tour each year for our anniversary in June. This year we celebrate 24!

Hi Catherine!  Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary!  What a wonderful idea to give a tour as a present. I may just have to use that!

The Animal Kingdom does have one of my favorite tours.  The Wild Africa Trek is a 3-hour, privately guided expedition "offering close encounters with exotic African wildlife in their native habitat."  The tour also includes personal photos of your journey and African inspired snacks after the trek.  You can read more about what's included and the details by following the link above.  The minimum age for the excursion is 8-years-old, in case you were wondering if your kids could go along too.  It really is a wonderful and exciting adventure.

On some afternoons, the Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a free culinary tour of their restaurants Boma and Jiko: The Cooking Place.  Their is no reservation necessary for the tour, guests are just told to gather around a certain time, usually in front of Boma.  The tour guides you through the restaurants as the guide explains spices used, cooking methods and foods of Africa.  To find out if this tour is available, ask the concierge desk in the lobby or check the hotel's calendar of events.

    Have a wonderful trip celebrating!

Meet the Panelist: Lauren, Colorado

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
