Is there any way you can totally delete a Magicbamd from your Disney app. I don’t want it on the list of bands anymore. It was lost years ago

    Howdy Beth!

Welcome back to planDisney. There is nothing more exciting than planning your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. I really love having and using a MagicBand+ during our visit because it allows us to quickly scan into Lightning Lanes and easily charge things to our room. It has a few other magical properties that I’ll share with you as well, but for now let’s get to your question.

Alrighty, so I put on my Great Mouse Detective hat, and here is what I found. Once a MagicBand has been linked to your account, you can not delete it, although you can deactivate it. If you would like to do that, follow these steps. Let’s begin by opening the My Disney Experience app and tapping on the 3 bars in the lower right-hand corner. Next, scroll down and tap MagicBands & Cards, find the family member who has the MagicBand you would like to delete, and tap the 3 dots to the right of their name, which will bring up a list of items associated with their account.  Choose the type of MagicBand, then tap Manage. From here, you can deactivate the band.

It sounds like you might have a new MagicBand+, and if so, I would love to share a little-known feature. You can customize many of the effects and colors of your band using the My Disney Experience app. You can do this by tapping on the 3 bars (≡) at the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll down to MagicBands & Cards and choose the person associated with the band. Here, you can change the Light Up Theme for when you interact with park attractions. You can also adjust the brightness, vibrations, and other interactive features. It’s a neat way to make your experience even more magical.

Beth, I hope I was able to help with your question and that you have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World. Please stop by if you have any further questions; my fellow panelists and I will be happy to help.

    See ya real soon,
    Robert
