Hello, Whitney!
Thanks for sailing over with your question! Looking at different Port Adventures is so much fun, but it can be really hard to choose. Let's see if we can find the best option for your family!
Tortola is a gorgeous area! I think the biggest thing you want to consider in selecting a Port Adventure for this stop is the ages of your children.
Surfer's Bay is so much fun, but the water there is really better for surfing than swimming. It might be too rough for your young kids to really enjoy the water. I think the
Beach Express Port Adventure is a great option for your family! The water there is typically calmer than Surfer's Bay, making it a better spot for kids to swim. It's also a shorter Port Adventure, leaving you time to rest up at the ship and
order a snack from room service before your evening activities.
It is good to note that the Beach Express Port Adventure does not include lunch, but food and drinks can be purchased on the beach. You can also rent an umbrella, which is something I would plan on for sure with kids. Some vendors may only be able to do cash transactions, so bringing a little cash with you is super smart! I would also bring a bag with some water bottles (you can purchase a very cute Disney Cruise Line cooler bag with water on the ship if you need to), hats, sunglasses, coverups, and plenty of sunscreen.
There are plenty of great spots to
swim on Disney Cruise Line ships, too! My kids love to swim as soon as we finish lunch on embarkation day, so we always keep our swimming suits in our carry-on bag to change in one of the ship restrooms and start swimming when the pool opens, even if our luggage hasn't made it to our stateroom yet.
Happy planning, Whitney! I hope your cruise is fantastic!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
