HI, We are torn between the moderate resorts. Was at CBR last year, loved the pool, loved the bright tropical colors, but would like to try something new. Pool/slide are important to a 7 yr old. Port Orleans always seems to get good reviews.Suggestions?

Hey Sue, welcome back! I love helping others choose a resort as there are so many great options to choose from!

Port Orleans Riverside is a fabulous resort. It is pretty spread out much like Caribbean Beach Resort, but I just love the southern splendor of the manors of Magnolia Bend and the rustic cabins in Alligator Bayou. If you'd rather be in a less expansive resort, Port Orleans French Quarter is an awesome alternative with a New Orleans twist in theming. I personally prefer the pool at Port Orleans French Quarter as it is more colorful with the large sea serpent water slide and fun alligator band figures around this pool called Doubloon Lagoon. Another big difference between the two is that Riverside has a table service restaurant called Boatwright's Dining Hall as well as Riverside Mill (food court). However, French Quarter only has Sassagoula Floatworks (food court).

Even though you did mention wanting a moderate resort, I did want to mention that you might consider staying at Art of Animation, Walt Disney World's newest value resort. While it is a value resort with a few less amenities, the family suites are fabulously themed and the pools there are out of this world. The Big Blue Pool is the largest pool on property and is fashioned after scenes from Finding Nemo. It is zero entry and has speakers underwater. Yes, you read that right! You can hear the music underwater. The Cozy Cone pool in the nearby Cars section of the resort has fantastic details from the movie with cone-shaped bungalows that house tables and chairs poolside.

I hope this gives you a little to think about while considering a resort for your upcoming trip! Feel free to stop by and ask me more questions as your planning continues. I'd be thrilled to help you out!
